Doodle Daddles

"Excess Baggage" for the Rock Church, AZ

I recently made this basic illustration for a friends church for a sermon series titled "Excess Baggage". I thought it came out kind of neat. Anyone else out there do illustration work? I'd love to see :-)

Happy Halloween

Unfortunately I was not very festive this year and didn't really dress up for Halloween so instead of a costume post, here is a spooky cat I drew for you today hah! Text is a lyric excerpt from Janet Jackson's song "Black Cat".

How was everyone's weekend? What did you dress up as?

Ode to Southwestern-ness

Well sometimes I get bored and draw silly pictures that pledge my love for the glory that is Southwestern-ness!

Hope everyone is having a looovely Sunday! Mine has been excellent so far. This morning I woke up feeling extremely good which hasn't happened in awhile. For over a week I've been super dizzy and it looks like I might have vertigo?!? I'm still not positive but that's what it looks/feels like. Then the last two days on top of major dizzy I was having really bad migraines. So to wake up and not feel any of that was really really nice and definitely a gift from God. I'm so grateful to have a clear and creative head today :) Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday!

Outfit of the Day - Doodle Style

I haven't had much time to take outfit photos yet this week so here is a little doodle of my favorite outfit so far which I wore over the weekend to a wedding and then to a girls night dance party afterwords (which were both soooo fun by the way!) I'm so extremely excited about this dress which I thrifted for $25 at Buffalo Exchange that was actually free after trade! It still had the original tags on it that retailed for almost $300 which is insssane! I don't think I would ever pay that much for anything a dress hah. The boots are also a Buffalo Exchange find and extremely perfect for dancing! I'm kind of strangely particular about the shoes I dance in they have to fit tightly so they don't move around but not so tight that your feet hurt afterwords. I also appreciate a good low flat heal for dancing shoes-it does something to the shape of my legs that propels them into dance action I dunno. The over sized vintage bow and black tights sealed the deal for this playful yet classy outfit.

HairDo.

Lately I've been trying to draw a little bit each day. At some point I kind of got used to primarily using Adobe Illustrator and stopped using my hands which is no bueno. Right now I'm doing a mini series on "hair" and this is one of my favorites. A style which I personally cannot pull off but looks absolutely stunning on many the "high fashion top bun". The fashion ladies are drawn by me and the background is by Andre :)

Custom Portrait Illustrations, by Me!

Hello friends! So as some of you know over the past couple of months I've been fundraising to go to NYC this summer. I've sent out letters I'm selling some arts and now I'm offering custom vector portrait illustrations drawn by yours truly! For anyone who doesn't know I'll be interning in NYC for 6 weeks this summer to work for a non profit organization Transform Creative Ministries, a branch of Campus Crusade for Christ, on a summer project that teaches college art students how to incorporate their faith with their art. It's an incredible program, I did it two summers ago and had an amazing time of spiritual and creative growth. I'm super excited but anxious as I still have quite a bit of fundraising to do to actually get there. So thus I'm getting a little bit creative in my methods of fundraising and have decided to offer my illustration skills in exchange for donations for the trip. Above are some examples of portrait type illustrations I've made. You can also find more on my portfolio website here. If you are interested please email me at tiffany.egbert@gmail.com. Suggested rates are $75 for an individual $100 for a couple. You will get an 8.5x11 print plus the digital file to do with whatever you please :)  I will be taking orders for the next two weeks to completed within two weeks of order. Could make the perfect gift, wedding invite graphic, personal avatar, facebook pic, etc ;)

The Bears Doing Things Project

Last night I went to a little reunion with some of my classmates from ASU and boy did we have a silly time. Started out with a mild happy hour and then off to the the ASU graphic design senior exhibit and then out to dinner to eat large bowls of tortilla soup. While we were at dinner for whatever reason we got this genius idea to start a collaborative series of drawings called "bears doing things". It was really funny at the time just trust me. Any who this is my first contribution to the bears doing things project. It's the belligerent dancing bear. He just wants to dance guys. Why won't you dance with him??? Maybe cause he's a big scary bear. Oh and I hope all of you designers enjoy the Papyrus like font. I thought it screamed bear handwriting :)

Bon Voyage to the Watsons

So as of yesterday two of my best friends and most favorite people of all time moved away. I'm super bummed but extremely excited for them as they pursue all the magic that is LA and Hollywood. Adam is an incredibly talented film maker and photographer and jess is a supermodel-superbrain that has been one of my faithful Kittenpaws cover girls this past year. They are two of the greatest people ever and I am so happy for all of the fun times we've had over the past 7 years.  California is our next door neighbor state so I just need to get a lil road trip savy and everything will be okay :) I made this drawing of them on a tandem bike as a tribute to how awesome they are. I love you guys :D
