Singing Songs of Spring
It's a beautiful day out today and the birds have been chirping their songs of Spring loud and clear! In honor of their beautiful melodies I thought I'd bring my little red cardinal buddy in for a few photos ;)

What I Wore
Outfit Details: Handmade Kitten Paws Headband / Ella Moss Dress / Vintage Esprit Purse
This is one of my all time favorite dresses and one of the few dresses in my closet that isn't vintage. I bought it a few years ago at Buffalo Exchange and it has been kind of a staple in my wardrobe for awhile now. It can be both casual and pretty dressy depending on how I decide to accessorize. It's also extremely comfy so double win :)

Storybook Chic
Okay, so I'll admit it. I found this dress in a costume section during Halloween time at a thrift store but I think it makes an awesome daily wear too! Definitely not appropriate for every occasion but once in awhile it's nice to add a little bit of magic and whimsy to the every day. I'm also wearing a new headband which I made last night to match my storybook dress :-)

What I Wore: Vintage Mix
Outfit Details: Vintage Straw Hat / Vintage Levis Denim Jacket / Vintage Hawaiian Dress / Vintage Black Roper Boots
Happy Saturday! I wore this little number today for a pretty mellow and uneventful afternoon. Slept in a bit this morning which was nice then mostly worked on freelance projects and watched silly dance tv shows. Pretty epic day hah. Going to a crazy 90s themed dance party tonight though which should redeem the low keyness of my Saturday. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far :)

What I Wore: Vintage Twirling Dress
This is another one of my favorite vintage dresses that has been in my closet for a couple of years but I don't think I've ever photographed it. I absolutely love the neckline and the fullness of the skirt which is extremly good for twirling around in :)
Outfit Details: Felt Gaera Bow / Vintage Dress / Thrifted George Brand Boots
I'm pretty excited about the weekend. Going to hang out with some good friends I haven't seen in awhile and also go to a 90s dance party (!!) I have no idea what I'm going to wear yet but I hope it to be very brightly colored and possibly involve a fanny pack. I am planning on photo documenting the event so stay tuned for some crazy pictures. Anyone have any fun plans for the weekend? :)

What I Wore: Flower Lady
This is one of my all time favorite vintage dresses. I found it at Buffalo Exchange a couple of years ago when I was looking for an outfit to wear to a big art show I had coming up. I absolutely love the color and cut. Makes me feel like such a lady!
Hope everyone is having an excellent weekend! I've had quite a busy one filled with lots of friends and fun times. Friday night I went to a What Laura Says Thinks and Feels show at the Crescent Ballroom which was INCREDIBLE. Last night went to another Gospel Lee show and took a TON of photos as his official photographer. Then went to see "The Artist" which was an incredible silent film about silent films. Super rad, I highly recommend. Finished off the evening with some of my favorite people at SideBar. A pretty wonderful weekend if you ask me :-)

What I Wore: Lil Red Dress
Outfit Details: Thrifted Red Dress / Handmade Headband by Kitten Paws / Thrifted Cowboy Boots
I recently thrifted this super saucy lil red dress that was supposed to be for the shop but I think I may have to keep it for myself! It's such a spunky dress. It demands WEAR ME NOW! LET'S GO ON DATES! LET'S DANCE! The crazy extra layer of hip poof definitely makes me wider looking than normal which makes me a tiny bit self conscious but I think it's okay. A lil bit more curviness would probably do me good ha.
Hope everyone is having a lovely day! Anyone have any fun plans for the weekend? :)

Dark Hair Dark Lips
Outfit Details: Handmade Kitten Paws Greek Goddess Headband,
Ramage 90s Velvet Grunge Dress
So I decided to go a bit darker on the red and I really like it! Unfortunately red fades pretty fast so it won't be this dark for long but I think it'll fade better than the more orangey red I've been going with lately. I happened to find a darker shade of lipstick in my makeup bag this morning that matched my hair perfectly which is a little bit creepy little bit awesome. It made me feel a little bit goth grunge so I decided to wear this fun 90s Velvet Rampage dress. On a side note one of my semi New Years resolution things is to get out of my garage and a little bit more creative with my outfit photos. It mostly means asking people for help and getting out of my comfort zone with the possibility of other people seeing me make weird faces and poses ha.

What I Wore
Daisy Headband: Handmade by me
Necklace: Vintage {Buffalo Exchange}
Grunge Flower Print Maxi Dress {Thrifted Savers}
Vintage Roper Boots: Laredo {Thrifted Savers}
I just thrifted this dress a few days ago and I am LOVING it! It's extremely comfortable and casual yet... dressy. It's a little bit wild but not too wild. Just perfect on all fronts! I also found these amazing vintage roper boots on the same trip, so it was quite a good day.

My Favorite Accessory
My favorite little guy was out just in time for a few outfit photos! He was out twice today maybe because it's getting a tiny bit cooler outside.
About this outfit: I may or may not have bought this dress in the childrens section, you decide ha! Paired with fancy new (old) cowboy boots, one of my favorite handmade headbands and a vintage handmade owl necklace. I'm feelin' a bit like a flower child today. Hope everyone is having a lovely day :)

Happy Weekend!
Outfit details:
Dress: Vintage Zizi dress - thrifted
Patent Leather Pumps: Life Stride
Belt: Thrifted
Purse: Vintage Tooled Leather
This is currently one of my favorite dresses. Too bad it's polyester which is kind of not very good for summer. Besides the fabric I love the lace color and the simplicity of wearing black and white then throwing some brown in there. Anyone have any special plans for the weekend? I guess Monday is Memorial Day. No crazy special plans for me yet but probably do some sort of bbq or pool party :)

Come Sail Away with Me
Hello lovelies! Just wanted to break up the teaser posts with a lil outfit post. Above is todays outfit of the day somewhat sailor inspired. I absolutely love the over exaggerated collar and bright reds on this dress. This dress will very likely be going into the next shop update (oooohlala!)
In other news I watched the rough cut of the lookbook video last night and it's looking pretty excellent. I should be releasing the official photo lookbook very soon followed by the video annnnd a little summer makeover to the Kitten Paws Vintage website which has not been updated since it's conception in 2009. Wow! Ooooh and there's going to be a pretty fantastic shop update coming your way this weekend. So many good things happening here!! Hope you all are having an amazing week :)

Birthday Outfit (not to be confused with birthday suit)
I turned 26 over the weekend. I don't know why but I've been completely anticipating this age. 25 is such a nice even number and 26 just feels so much older. It makes me feel like I should have so much more figured out than I do. But it's just a number. And I am still me. Every day I learn new things and hopefully am growing into the person that I was made to be. If time stood still and everything stayed exactly the way it was today or yesterday I think that would be quite uninteresting.
Besides feeling weird about age I had a really great week. Got to hang out with the boy on Friday. Ate a whole lot of tasty food, went shopping, ran errands, drank coffee, saw an awesome exhibit at Daytwelve, ended the evening drinking a cucumint at Sidebar. Pretty good times. Saturday did a photoshoot then went out with a large group of friends dancing which was CRAZY fun. Dancing is my favorite :) Sunday hung out with my sister and visited my dad in the hospital. Tuesday got my dad back from the hospital after being there for two weeks. That was probably the best birthday present :)

Plans/Hopes/Dreams for 2011
1. SCREEN PRINTING: I just started a freelance design job with a company that does screen printing among other things which means I get access to their equipment and I hope to start doing my own screen printing and design and print a small line of adorable tees. Soooo excited about this!
2. MARKETING: This year I'd really like to grow KittenPaws doing more advertising and interacting with other small businesses locally and through the interwebs
3. ILLUSTRATION: I just started a daily illustration project I'm super excited about. My drawing skills are so rusty so this project will be really good for me.
4. TRAVEL: Last year I took two big trips that left me out of state and country for almost half of the year. This year I don't have any big trips planned but I'd really like to visit some friends that have moved away to LA, Portland, and NYC
5. REDEMPTION CHURCH: My church, Praxis has merged with another church to become Redemption Church, super excited about this and can't wait to see how the community comes together
6. WEB DESIGN: I've been doing more web design lately which I love. I already have a couple of super amazing clients that I am so excited to continue to work with
7. PHOTOGRAPHY: I hope to work on some more conceptual photo projects as well as continue doing fashion and portrait work
8. YOGA: I want to get into yoga. When I was in college I took a few dance and theater classes and yoga was an important part of many of our warm up excercises. I really enjoyed this time and would love to do something physically challenging again.
9. COACHELLA: Hopefully going to Coachella for the first time EVER!!!
10. FASHION FOCUS: I hope to make this blog a little bit more fashion focused including more inspiration posts and what I wore posts :)

Photoshoot by Shane Hubbard :D
Just wanted to share a few pictures my friend Shane Hubbard took of me. I'm wearing some of my favorite vintage pieces from my own personal collection complete with a super fab vintage buis time brief case that should be up in the shop soon :) In other news I have about one more week until I leave for NYC for the summer! SO much to do before then including a big art show at Fractal gallery tomorrow! I'm going to try to take pictures at the show to share. I'm usually bad about taking out and about type photos because I generally want to be part of the party and if I have a camera I kind of get locked to that and go into my own special world. Sooooo I'll be good take some sweet documentary type photos and be social at the same time. Multi tasking I can do it (!)
