My First Solo Photo Show!

This past week I was invited to do a solo show at a really great gallery in Downtown Phoenix, Kitchen Sink Studios! This is actually my very first solo show so I'm quite excited. For you local friends who want to join the show will be Kitchen Sink Studios 828 N 3rd st, Phoenix 85004 (3rd st and Roosevelt) from 7 pm - 10 pm. Much prep work to do in the next few days but I am absolutely stoked!!

Album Artwork - The Cold Desert

I just finished some album artwork for an awesome local band called The Cold Desert. They are putting out a new EP and judging by what I've heard so far, it's going to be really amazing. One of my all time favorite people and long time friends Matt Klassen is the lead vocalist dude. I've absolutely loved watching this kid grow into quite the musical genius over the years and am so excited about this band and this new EP. YAYY!

On a side note if you're a local The Cold Desert is playing a show tonight in downtown Phoenix at the Lexington Hotel for Spash Pool Party. Come and support local awesome!!

Courtney Marie Andrews - Recording Studio Shoot

 

Yesterday afternoon I got to hang out with one of my favorite local musicians, Courtney Marie Andrews, and photo document the recording of her brand new album. So much fun!! The album sounds amazing and it was such a lovely day! Did I mention the recording studio was LEGIT?! Courtney is pretty much the bees knees and has been touring with Jimmy Eat World as a vocalist and they were kind enough to let her use their personal recording studio to record her personal work, om rad! Can't wait to hear the finished product it's going to be AMAZING! Yay for local awesome!

This weekend I got to be a part of a super fun photoshoot for Triple M Apparel! Triple M Apparel is a brand new clothing line put out by Refurban Designs based out of Phoenix Arizona that not only makes a variety of super cool zombie shirts, but also really amazing bags, scarves, dresses and other manners of clothing and accessories mainly out of recycled materials. Triple M Apparel is the brainchild of Michelle Marie Merriman whose name and face may be familiar to you because she has been modeling for kittenpaws this past year and is also one owners of Refurban Designs which I've blogged about more than a few times. This shoot was such a fun time and I am so excited for Michelle as she launches her new clothing line and begins to start selling her super awesome wears online. As we speak items are being added to her etsy shop oh myyy! Triple M Apparel also makes custom items from time to time so if there's something special you've been dreaming of adding to your closet be sure to contact Michelle via facebook or etsy and she may be able to make your dreams come true.... :)

KittenPawsVintage at Artbomb!

Hello all! So many exciting things are in the air! Above is a perdy flier I designed for an event Kitten Paws Vintage will be a part of called ARTBOMB! Basically it's a small group of super creative local lady entrepreneurs who are putting together a small handmade and vintage pop up sale. This is my first sort of real time not on the interwebs sale so it should be interesting and fun! I'm also going to have some cards and paper goods I designed for sale as well. Local Spotlight: The Gauche Design Show

Just wanted to share some bomb dot com local creative talent! Last night my friend Stephanie Horn AKA Gauche Design had an opening party for her solo design show at Cartel Coffee Lab. Everything looks fantastic and the show was a lot of fun. She's been doing a project over the past year called 365 in which she creates a new creative design piece nearly every day and posts it on her tumblr. Sooo much great work! I highly recommend checking it- you will enjoy much! Also if you are a local go grab some tasty coffee and check out her work at Cartel Coffee Lab in Tempe - it'll be up for about a month :) Yayyy Gauche Design!

Photoshoot: Tobie Milford

So apparently this week was a bit busy and I did not blog at all! Well to perhaps redeem myself just a little bit I wanted to share one of the projects I worked on this week- photographs of the amazingly talented Tobie Milford. Tobie is an incredible musician and a fantastically sweet human being. He recently put out his first album, Alyosha, and has been blowing up ever since. His musical style has been described as an “ethereal symphony of sound” and has been compared to Andrew Bird and Radiohead. Check out his tunes at tobiemilford.com and buy his CD (!!!) It will make you infinitely happy! My favorite song is The Disconnected Heart & Voice Box soooo good!

In other news I had an art show fundraiser party this weekend to raise money for my NYC trip and raised about $1000 (yay!!) It was a great turn out and a ton of fun. Also in the news of art shows just found out I will have some art up at Fractal Gallery for the June First Fridays Art Walk. Sooo excited! Alrighty I should be better about bloggin this week and will be writing again soon :)
